THE GLORIETTE AT THE SCHONBRUNN PALACE IN VIENNA

As you proceed from the Schonbrunn Palace into the beautifully laid out gardens also known as the Great Parterre towards the Neptune Fountain at the base of the hill, just look up and you will see a majestic building crowning the top. This is the Gloriette. The way up is a steep climb on a zigzag path winding it's way up the hill.

The central section of the Gloriette is crowned by a mighty eagle perched on top of a globe surrounded by trophies.
